You really need a good sharpener to get the most out of Sprout pencils. We’ve tried many and highly recommend the Julep sharpener. It gives a perfect point without breaking or splintering the wood or the color core. The blade is carbon steel. Although the body is plastic, Julep says it’s the last sharpener you’ll ever buy. We can justify this since it can keeps so many plastic eye and brow liners out of landfill. Be sure to pass it on to the next generation.
